Happy Birthday Malaysia. It has been 49 years since we acheived independence on 31 August 1957 and much has changed in our country since then. Let’s hope and pray that Malaysia will continue to prosper in the years to come.

A new LRT line stretching from Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya to Cheras cutting across Kuala Lumpur is to be ready in 4 years time. The existing Kelana Jaya line will be extended to Subang Jaya and USJ while the Seri Petaling line will be extended to Puchong.

Update: Based on a graphic published in The Star on 30 August 2006, the said 3rd LRT line from Kota Damansara to Cheras seems to be an extension of the existing STAR LRT system. The graphic indicated that the line starts in Kota Damansara, passing through Damansara Perdana, Mutiara Damansara, Damansara Heights to Masjid Jamek. The line integrates with the existing line from Masjid Jamek to Chan Sow Lin and branched out to Cheras via Bandar Tun Razak, Tamman Connaught and Plaza Phoenix.

It has been about a week since the semi-nude photo of Gillian Chung of pop duo Twins appeared in a Hong Kong magazine. Such an irresponsible act of the photographer who took the shots without the knowledge of the singer at Genting Highlands Arena of Stars and the magazine publisher for publishing them.

I seriously condemn such an act and wish that all those responsible for this incident to face the music.
