Attended convo sessions over the weekend

What a hectic weekend where I attended 3 sessions of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman’s (UTAR) 3rd convocation. On Saturday afternoon I attended the first session which was officiated by Housing & Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting, who is also the MCA President. Witnessed graduands from honors degree programmes from Computer Science, Chinese Studies & Accounting. Took photos with my former students from Computer Science such as top students Phu Jiong June, William Tan and Tou Jing Yi as well as many others I know well - Tan Siew Peng, Gan Shin Yi, Tan Hwei Yang and Ng Tat Mun, just to name a few.
On Sunday, attended the 2nd session in the morning and 3rd session in the afternoon. The 2nd session was officiated by Ms Tan Siok Choo, daughter of former MCA President, the late Tun Tan Siew Sin and granddaughter of MCA founder-president, the late Tun Tan Cheng Lock. Graduands from Business Information Systems and Accounting received their scrolls. As usual, took photos again with my former students from Business Information Systems such as Tan Yee Ing, Crystal Teh, Ooi Siew Ee and Pah Chee Hock, just to name a few.

In the afternoon’s 3rd session, it was officiated by Transport Minister and MCA Deputy President, Dato Sri Chan Kong Choy. Graduands from Information Systems Engineering and Biotechnology received their scrolls. Took photos with my former students from Information Systems Engineering such as Catherina Leong, Tan Zhen Ling, etc. and friends I know from Biotechnology. And yes, met up with a long lost friend whom I lost contact with since 2003 - Chor Siew Yim - of Biotechnology! Well, if we are fated to meet again, we will :)

As mentioned earlier, I took quite a number of photos from my former students and friends, you may take a look at these photos at James Ooi Online > Nostalgic Moments > UTAR Convocation : Aug 2006. There are a total of 55 photos in 11 pages.

Will be attending the 4th session this coming Saturday, while I will not be attending the 5th and last session on Sunday. Well, its’ fair enough as I would like to keep at least a day for personal activities.
