As the issue of improper use of the national language is going on, many names used might have to be changed. And the issue of names seems to be affecting many commonly used terms such as “Touch ‘N Go” and now, perhaps “MyKad”.

Now, looking at the “MyKad” term, I do not think it is an issue of the national language being mixed with English. The “My” stands for “Malaysia” (my is the 2-letter country code for Malaysia as defined in ISO-3166) while “Kad” stands for “Kad Akuan Diri” or “Personal Identification Card”. Hence, the issue of replacing this name should not arise.
