Yes to confiscating Mat Rempit’s bike

I fully agree with the proposal to confiscate motorbikes used in illegal racing. At least, they will not get to race till they obtain another bike. While the Deputy Prime Minister has shot down the idea of imposing mandatory imprisonment, other penalties include suspending driving license of those who involved in the race and legal action against organizers.

Perhaps, these Mat Rempits can also be subjected to mandatory community service in place of jail terms. Those under the age 35 can be compelled to participate in the National Service (NS) program while those 35 and above perform community service for a certain period under supervision from the relevant authorities.

Rained, but haze still there

It rained heavily yesterday afternoon, but the haze returns this morning. The situation seems do not improve at all. The latest API at 5pm yesterday for most places remain moderate with some recording unhealthy air quality. The Indonesian authorities should put a stop to this problem once and for all for the benefit of all in the region. Don’t just talk, please act.
