A report published in the New Straits Times revealed the latest modus operandi of Ah Longs. In order to remain competitive, they now distribute pamphlets carrying names similar to actual commercial banks in order to dupe customers into believing that they are offering loans sanctioned by the banks. Well, names such as Cilibank (Citibank), Poblic Bank (Public Bank) and Business Commerce (Bumiputra Commerce) are among those used.

Such a misuse of resembling trademarks is clearly a violation of copyright. Well, the authorities and banks concerned should look into this.
