BATANG BERJUNTAI: Almost 300 voters in Ijok received letters containing RM100 counterfeit notes as reward for supporting the Barisan Nasional, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo said yesterday. He said the letters, purportedly sent by KDU College Sdn Bhd, were found in the residents’ letter boxes yesterday morning.
The letters read: “Congratulations, you have been chosen to receive our compliments. We have been directed by the government to give you this RM100 for your support of the Barisan Nasional.”
“The BN is not involved in this. This is to create anger at the BN,” Dr Mohd Khir said adding that a police report had been lodged on the matter.
A KDU College spokesman in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, when contacted by Bernama, said the college had never sent out such letters. “We are being deluged with calls asking about this,” he said.
