KUALA LUMPUR: Now that Bigfoot has disappeared into obscurity, the aliens are making a comeback.
Or so it seems to Hew Chee Keong who noticed a greyish-green light in the clear night sky last Wednesday.

The 60-year-old retiree was in his garden in Taman Daya, Kepong, about 8.30pm when he noticed the strange phenomenon.

“It was like a vertical rectangle and was moving towards the left. It slowly rotated into a horizontal position. All the while, there was a leaking gas-like hissing sound.

“After about five seconds, six or seven glowing dark green lines suddenly appeared above the rectangle before disappearing into the night sky.”
Hew said when he told his wife about the lights, she had initially dismissed them as part of a show held in conjunction with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s installation.

“However, the lines suddenly reappeared and she was left speechless. My 22-year-old daughter, who followed her out into the garden, was also puzzled by the appearance of the lights.”

Hew said they did not stay on to watch the lights as they had to go to his mother’s house in Bangsar.

“When I asked two of my mother’s neighbours in Bangsar the next morning, they too had witnessed the same thing.”

Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) director-general Datuk Kok Soo Chon said he had not heard of the incident and did not want to speculate about it.

Checks with the DCA showed that low-flying aircraft are usually not allowed in the air after sunset.

However, laser shows are being held every night at the “Eye on Malaysia” site at Lake Titiwangsa since it started earlier this year.

“The pre-show lasers are green and it starts from 8pm until 9pm every day. They are YAG lasers which are very strong and it is possible that it could be seen in Kepong,” said Widyanty Yusope, executive director of MST AD Suria Sdn Bhd which operates the tourist attraction.
