I’ve wrote about the vast availability of Chinese New Year albums yesterday. Local producers release many Chinese New Year albums each year. Some of these albums are also exported to China where there is a large market for the albums. It seems producers in China seldom release any Chinese New Year album.

The Christmas albums available here seems to have originated from the West (correct me if I am wrong). There seems to be a small market over here for Christmas albums which results in local producers not producing any of them.

And the recent Hari Raya, I have noticed many of the albums on sale are of the same songs by the familiar singers like Sharifah Aini, Sudirman, M. Nasir, etc. Perhaps local producers should consider publishing newer albums like what we have for Chinese New Year?
