Selangor State Executive Councillor Yaakob Sapari released a photograph depicting Tanjung Sepat state assemblyman Karim Mansor showing thumbs up at a modern pig farm in Germany.

This is in response to the objections by UMNO and NGO against the state government’s decision to proceed with the modern pig farming project to be located in Kuala Langat. The project was approved by the previous BN administration, before losing the state to Pakatan Rakyat in the recent General Election. Karim and former MB Khir Toyo have objected to the pig farming project when the state government announced the decision to proceed.
It looks like UMNO is trying to gain political mileage by politicizing the pig farming project when they were the ones who approved it when in power. Ironically, the project is located in and around seats won by BN during the General Election.
The modern pig farming project is aimed at centralizing all pig farms in the state into a single farm, which uses modern farming technology to ensure cleanliness and reduce environmental pollution. Waste produced will be recycled into biogas to produce electricity for the farm.
