Malaysia Today blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin will be sent to the Kamunting Detention Center in Taiping today to begin his 2-year detention under the Internal Security Act (ISA). His detention orders has been signed none other than the Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar, a Malaysiakini report said.

However, the Kuala Lumpur High Court today is to hear a habeas corpus application by Raja Petra’s lawyer to overturn his detention.
The detention of Raja Petra for 2 years is inappropriate and gross travesty of justice as justice has been denied against the blogger. Instead of a detention without trial, he should be charged in court and allowed to defend himself.
We should all call for the release of all ISA detainees and the abolishment ISA.
Please do your part by signing the petition to “Free Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Teresa Kok and Others Held Under the Internal Security Act” if you have not done so. (This petition is set up before the release of Teresa Kok).
