The Health Minister Liow Tiong Lai today said the White Rabbit candy was found to have excessive melamine, way above the permissible level.

Based on the test conducted on the White Rabbit candy sample, the amount of melamine found was 135 parts per million. The permissible level of melamine for adults is 2.5 parts per million.

Malaysia Today blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin’s sedition trial begins at 9.00am this morning at the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court. He was charged on 6 May 2008 over his posting related to the murder of Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Sessions Court judge Rozina Ayob presides in this trial.

According to Malaysiakini, about 60 supporters were at the court compound with some wearing T-Shirts calling for the release of Raja Petra.

Also present at the scene were Raja Petra’s wife Marina Lee and several leaders from Pakatan Rakyat led by Ipoh Timur MP Lim Kit Siang and Selangor state exco Ronnie Liu.
